Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, Director General of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre, President of the Russian Cardiology Society.<\/p>\n

Has created and is developing a well-known in Russia and abroad scientific and clinical school which has made a great contribution to the development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases, solution of theoretical and practical problems of the organisation of medical care and training of medical personnel.<\/p>\n

Research results are summarised in more than 1000 publications, monographs, textbooks and manuals, 34 patents for invention and 2 discoveries.<\/p>\n

Mr. Shlyakhto’s students have defended 22 doctoral dissertations and 57 candidate theses.<\/p>\n

Editor-in-Chief in a number of journals.<\/p>\n
