The author’s research interests are focused on the theory and methodology of wrestling, sports psychology, sports conflictology, anti-doping support in sports, as well as political science and sociology. Participated in the preparation of 11 teaching manuals aimed at providing the educational process for the training of qualified personnel in the field of physical culture and sports. The most important works include “Psychological preparation of the fighter” (2009), “wrestling” (2012), “Training of highly qualified athletes: a psychological perspective” (2015), “wrestling” (2018), Doping in sport: legal, psychological and pedagogical aspects of the response” (2019) and others.
In March 2021, under the leadership of S.I. Petrov all the main educational programs have successfully passed the State accreditation procedure for a period of 6 years.
Since 2019, Petrov S.I. has successfully carried out general management of the implementation of the Federal project “Sport is the norm of life” at the University, aimed at retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of physical culture and sports in the North-Western Federal District and the Republic of Crimea. The state task for the Federal project “Sport is the norm of life” in 2020 was completed in full.
